Officials say four Orange County firefighters were hospitalized after their fire engine hit a tree on the way to a medical call.
Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Marc Stone says the engine was making a turn in Buena Park on Wednesday night when for some reason the firefighters lost control, running up a median and into a pine tree.
Stone tells the Orange County Register the four fighters were taken to University of California, Irvine Medical Center in Orange. He says the injuries range from minor to moderate but none of them are life-threatening.
The engine was heavily damaged and brought down the top of the tree.
No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured.
