An earthquake hit just southeast of downtown Los Angeles Wednesday morning. Well, maybe "hit" is too strong a word. It's not the big one — it was a 2.8, which for most Angelenos is barely the feeling of the garbage truck coming by.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports that the earthquake took place at 9:22 a.m. Just as people were sitting down with their morning coffee, they may have felt a slight disturbance in the tectonic plates.
