Gas prices in Southern California continue dropping. Figures from the Automobile Club of Southern California show the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular fell in Los Angeles County Thursday to $4.09, the lowest amount since February 7.
"Los Angeles wholesale prices have risen in the past week, but only the lowest-priced stations in Southern California are priced near the traditional 75-cent margin between wholesale and retail," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California."There is still a lot of room for prices to drop further provided that wholesale prices don't spike."
The price for a gallon of self-serve regular in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties is $4.06.
The prices have been dropping because most California refineries have concluded scheduled maintenance without experiencing any major incidents before the switch to summer blend production, resulting in adequate gasoline supplies, said Spring.
