Wondering if you’ve got allergies, high blood sugar or dental problems? Or maybe you need a vision checkup or an HIV test. You can get these health checks and more – all for free on Thursday – at Health Expo 2013.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is sponsoring the event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Olvera Street's El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, 125 Paseo de la Plaza in downtown Los Angeles.
In addition to the free health screenings, the expo will feature live music, yoga, zumba and healthy cooking demonstrations.
It’s all part of National Public Health Week, which is intended to promote healthy lifestyles nationwide and to reduce the number of deaths from preventable health conditions that now claim almost a million people in the US each year.
