The National Weather Service says parts of California are in for more strong winds.
The forecast follows gusts Sunday night in Riverside County that whipped up a dust storm at the Coachella music festival.
Meteorologists say more winds will develop Monday afternoon and persist through Tuesday morning. High wind warnings have been posted from the Eastern Sierra south through the mountains of Southern California to the U.S.-Mexico border.
Wind advisories have been issued around San Francisco Bay and up and down the Central Valley.
Gale-force winds are also becoming widespread in coastal waters and large breakers are expected at west- and northwest-facing beaches from the Central Coast to Los Angeles County.
The forecast for the rest of the week calls for more sunshine and a return to warmer temperatures.
