DEA holds safe 'take back' day of unwanted prescription drugs Saturday (MAP)

A Vial of Prescription Drugs

The DEA holds its 6th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Saturday.

On Saturday, the DEA and local law enforcement held they're 6th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day to safely dispose of unwanted or expired prescription drugs.

The effort is an attempt to pluck prescription drugs from the medicine and sink cabinets where they're vulnerable to theft and abuse. Flushing old medications down the toilet or tossing them in the trash can pose potential health and safety risks.

You can find a full listing of DEA prescription drug drop-off sites at the DEA's website, or check the map below.

Collections will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Saturday.
