It's been a busy week for bicycling in SoCal. Bike Week gets into full swing today with Bike to Work Day. Anyone with a bicycle or helmet on Thursday can board public transit for free on these lines:

  • Metro
  • Big Blue Bus (must show coupon)
  • Culver City Bus
  • Glendale Beeline
  • LADOT: DASH and Commuter Express
  • Long Beach Transit
  • Montebello Bus Lines
  • Norwalk Transit
  • Pasadena ARTS
  • Santa Clarita Transit
  • Torrance Transit
  • Metrolink (must have bicycle)

There has already been much bicycle riding and celebrating this week. Sunday marked one of the first guided group rides to Dodger Stadium. Bicycles were blessed at Good Samaritan Hospital, while riders from around the region held rides of silence to honor those who have been killed by car drivers. Professionals raced Wednesday afternoon from Santa Clarita to Ojai and Santa Barbara as a part of the Amgen Tour of California.

If you haven't gotten out to ride yet, there are still many rides, rodeos and parties to come:
