Big rig crash on northbound 405 in West LA closes 3 lanes; 700 gallons of diesel spilled

A crash involving a tanker truck and a car on the northbound 405 Freeway in West Los Angeles Friday resulted in a spill of about 700 gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway and the closure of three lanes, officials said.

The crash was reported about 5:40 a.m. near Montana Avenue, said California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada. No injuries were reported, Posada said.

Traffic was snarled while crews worked to clear the scene. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
