California Powerball officials say a ticketholder in Alhambra, California bought a ticket worth nearly $500,000
Alhambran Powerballers, you could be nearly $500,000 richer.
California Lottery officials said Sunday that a runner-up Powerball lottery ticket worth $477,969 was sold at an Alhambra supermarket.
The ticket was sold to someone at Asia Supermarket, 910 W. Valley Blvd.. It successfully matched the numbers 2, 6, 19, 21, and 27, but missed the Powerball number of 25.
Florida had its second Powerball winner in a week, though Saturday's lucky player will split a much smaller jackpot with winners in Louisiana and Delaware. A week ago, a ticket bought in Zephyrhills, Fla., won $590 million.
Still, Saturday's winner will get a third of the estimated $50 million jackpot. Not bad for a runner-up.
Lottery officials in Louisiana and Florida said Saturday's winning tickets were bought in New Orleans and Tampa. Delaware's lottery website did not say where that state's winner was bought.
The cash value of Saturday's prize was not immediately available.
The jackpot for Wednesday's drawing drops to an estimated $40 million, or $24.9 million cash.
