A conductor steps down from the engine of a Metrolink train on Sept. 15, 2008 in Chatsworth.

One of Metrolink's San Bernardino Line trains struck and killed a person this morning on the tracks west of the Claremont station.

Train 383 struck a person just after 6 a.m. near the intersection of Indian Hill Boulevard, Metrolink spokesman Jeff Lustgarten said. He said 350 passengers were still on the train while Claremont police lead their investigation.

Lustgarten said they were arranging for another train to come pick up those passengers. He advised other riders to take alternative transportation if they're traveling this morning.

A bus bridge was also being set up on either side of the incident between the Pomona and Montclair stations.
