As fans of The CW's long-gone and much-loved teen detective series "Veronica Mars" know, a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign has raised more than $5.7 million to make a movie that catches up with the plucky sleuth — played by Kristen Bell — and her various high-school classmates from fictional Neptune, Calif., 10 years down the line.
What fans don't know is that the production — which kicks off June 17 around Southern California — will be visiting the broadcast studios of 89.3 KPCC sometime in July to shoot a few key scenes involving ... well, you'll just have to stay tuned to find out what, exactly.
This much we can tell you: "Mars" creator Rob Thomas will be here, and he'll have a few surprises that he promises to share with Kickstarter backers on the official "Veronica Mars" movie site.
We'll also be there and will update you with news and, hopefully, some behind-the-scenes photos when the "Mars" team arrives in Pasadena!
In the meantime, you still have time to catch up with "Veronica Mars" before the movie premieres in theaters sometime in 2014. Check out the pilot here.
