A woman was fatally stabbed on Tuesday night after she and a friend took pictures of panhandlers at the heavily touristed intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, according to police.

Three homeless men have been arrested  in connection with the fatal stabbing, which happened around 8:30 p.m.

Police identified the victim as Christine Calderon, 23, of Lynwood, the LA County Coroner Department announced.

Calderon was walking with a friend when they took cellphone photos of three men holding signs and panhandling, according to a police statement.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the woman suffering from stab wounds, LAPD Commander Andrew Smith said.

The three men are described as white males in their late 20's to early 30's. They're expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
