FBI and police announced June 19 that they were looking for information on additional victims of alleged sex abuser Walter Williams, a former professor at USC. Williams' former roommate has now been arrested for possession of child pornography.

Authorities say a 71-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography was once the roommate of a former California collegeprofessor accused of engaging in illicit sex acts with children.

The FBI says Richard Leonard Arlington was taken into custody May 14 in Cathedral City.

He remains in custody without bail, charged with possession of child porn.

Investigators say Arlington shared a house in Palm Springs with Walter Lee Williams, the former University of Southern California professor accused of traveling abroad to engage in illicit sex acts with children. Williams pleaded not guilty Thursday to federal charges.

The FBI says Arlington and Williams were the only members of a group they called the Buddhist Universal Association of Los Angeles, which espoused an ideology of extreme sexual freedoms.
