Santa Ana police shot and killed a woman shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday, City News Service reports.
The news outlet quotes police commander Eric Paulson that the woman was shot in the 800
block of South Townsend Street and rushed to an area hospital. She was pronounced dead at 8:55 a.m. Sunday, CNS reported.
Cmdr. Paulson told CNS "There was a handgun recovered in the alley that did not belong to the police [...] It was unknown if she shot or did not shoot at the officers.''
Santa Ana police could not immediately be reached for details.
Officers are investigating the scene, CNS reports.
