Firefighters are closer to controlling a wildfire that's been burning for two weeks in remote wilderness east of Banning.
The U.S. Forest Service said Monday that the Hathaway Fire is 95 percent contained. The fire has blackened 3,825 acres but has not increased since Thursday, June 20.
The fire has been burning in the San Gorgonio Wilderness east of Banning in Riverside County. The fire broke out shortly before noon June 9 in the northern part of the Morongo Indian Reservation.
Ten firefighters have suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
