Covered California officials announced on Tuesday a selection of children’s dental plans for children up to age 19 that will be available when the state-run insurance marketplace opens for business October first.
The six companies chosen to participate in the state-run insurance marketplace include both multi-state insurers and smaller, locally-based companies. They are: Anthem Dental, Blue Shield of California, Delta Dental of California, Health Net Dental, LIBERTY Dental Plan and Premier Access Dental.
Together, they will offer ten ten pediatric plans available to consumers with monthly premiums ranging from about $10 for a dental HMO to $30 for preferred provider plans.
Covered California officials say each of the plans went through a competitive bidding process and screening to ensure it provided both access to coverage and affordable premiums.
