Santa Monica commuters: Northbound California Incline to close Thursday (map)

The northbound California Incline will be closed Thursday morning through early afternoon, the Santa Monica Police Department announced.

The closure is expected to affect northbound (downhill) traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for pothole repairs and weed abatement. Southbound (uphill) lanes into Santa Monica will not be affected, according to the department.

A good alternative is to take Interstate 10 (the Santa Monica Freeway) westward all the way to the end, where it dumps out onto the northbound Pacific Coast Highway.
