Spanish-language radio host Eddie "Piolin" Sotelo has filed suit against six former Univision employees, accusing them of a plot to extort $4.9 million from him.

The suit filed Monday says the employees were Piolin's friends, some from high school.

It says they profited from his success, but then turned on him and made false accusations of sexual harassment and workplace humiliation.

Piolin's popular show was abruptly canceled by Univision last April. He has since signed a contract with SiriusXM satellite radio.

The lawsuit details an alleged offer by the employees through their lawyers to "seal their lips" and take their allegations "to their graves" if Piolin paid them.

Piolin has denied all allegations.
