Powerful thunderstorms are lashing inland areas of Southern California east of Los Angeles.

The National Weather Service has posted flash flood warnings through 6 p.m. Thursday for southwestern San Bernardino County and northwestern Riverside County.

Heavy rain is falling in the city of Riverside and Rubidoux, as well as on Interstates 215, 10 and 210 and on State Routes 91 and 60.

The weather service says it is a "dangerous situation" and says flooding is likely to continue into the evening.
