A man suspected to have been driving a car that a woman jumped or was pushed from before she was struck and killed on the 210 Freeway in Sylmar has turned himself in to police.

According to a press release from the LAPD, Ricardo "Rick" Jimenez, 26, turned himself in Saturday and was being detained for questioning regarding Maria Josefina "Josie" Jimenez's death.

The investigation was ongoing and police had yet to locate Josie Jimenez's car, which was the one being driven when she was ejected from the passenger door and onto the freeway. She was killed by oncoming traffic, according to police.

City News Service reports that Ricardo Jimenez turned himself in Saturday after learning he was wanted for questioning.

The two are not related but Los Angeles police say Jimenez was allegedly having an affair with the married woman.

Police say witnesses saw the pair at a local tattoo parlor before midnight and that Ricardo Jimenez berated her in front of others.
