The search continued Tuesday for a missing 19-year old college student who was traveling from northern California to visit his family in Laguna Niguel.
Search and rescue crews searched by land and water in the Castaic Lake area for Bryce Laspisa, to no avail.
“We’ve had many and numerous personnel out there: we have K9s, we have horses, we have search-and-rescue personnel, we have divers, we have deputies go out to local businesses in the area, as well as local hospitals trying to get any information and pass out fliers," said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole Nishida.
The Sierra College student has been missing since Friday afternoon.
"There was a 911 call made by a person who reported a vehicle accident near Castaic Lake. California Highway Patrol Officers went and they located the vehicle. There was nobody inside, no occupants,” said Nishida. “So then at that point, they requested Sheriff's personnel. We searched the Castaic area as well as where the vehicle was found, and at that point that's when the search started. "
According to a Facebook page set up by his parents to help spread the word about the search, Laspisa likely got out of the crashed SUV through a broken rear window.
Laspisa left his cell phone and wallet in his 2003 Toyota Highlander .
Nishida said investigators are treating this as a missing person's case — and have not yet determined whether foul play was involved.
