Officials say a fire tore through a Los Angeles apartment building early Thursday, killing two people and injuring three others.
Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said more than 100 firefighters battled the flames in the two-story Echo Park building for almost an hour.
Police Sgt. Melvin Gamble said Two bodies were found in the building. They were not immediately identified.
Fire Capt. Jaime Moore told KNX radio that three other people were taken away by ambulance.
Gamble told City News Service arson and homicide investigators were sent to the scene, along with dogs trained to detect accelerants.
