Utility officials say winds may be to blame for a power outage northwest of Los Angeles.
Southern California Edison spokesman Robert Villegas tells the Los Angeles Times that 5,223 customers in Simi Valley lost electricity Wednesday morning. By noon, 362 remained in the dark.
Crews expect to restore power by 11 p.m.
Villegas told the newspaper that there was a downed wire and crews suspect high winds were a factor.
Traffic lights at major intersections were dark and police urged drivers to treat intersections as four-way stops.
