Los Angeles police say a man is in custody after a shooting incident in a suburban neighborhood that injured an officer.
LAPD spokesman Richard French says police responded to reports of shots fired at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Reseda and found a man with a weapon in the 7100 block of Yolanda Avenue.
When officers arrived, they say the suspect opened fire on a squad car. LAPD spokesman Richard French says one officer was hurt. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It's unclear whether the officer was hit by the bullet or by shrapnel. Police say a male victim had been shot before officers arrived. His condition is not known.
Police say they have a 49-year-old man in custody. There are no outstanding suspects.
