Southern California Public Radio (KPCC 89.3 FM) announced Friday that it has hired marketing executive Mary Hawley as vice president of underwriting sales. Hawley will take over the position on March 17.
In its announcement, KPCC said that Hawley will report to SCPR president Bill Davis and will lead SCPR’s underwriting sales team.
"Listener contributions form the foundation of SCPR's business model, and, at the same time, there are a number of nonprofit organizations and civic-minded for-profit businesses in L.A. that want to support KPCC's public service mission," Davis said Wednesday. "The depth of Mary's knowledge and relationships will help strengthen this source of support for KPCC's public service journalism."
“SCPR/KPCC is a dream opportunity for me,” Hawley said in a statement. “The station is perfectly positioned to serve the Los Angeles market in a world where people consume information in a variety of ways and across multiple mediums. I look forward to joining the team and helping to expand the KPCC conversation.”
Prior to joining SCPR, Hawley was senior vice president of national sales and marketing at Entravision Communications, where she worked for more than 15 years, most recently leading the communications, marketing and partner relations efforts for the Spanish-language broadcaster, KPCC said.
Previously, Hawley worked in senior level sales and marketing positions at Lotus Hispanic Reps, NW Ayer and WPIX-TV. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame.
