Police in Glendale need the public's help to find whoever is responsible for a series of arson fires in recent months.
The latest occurred on Saturday on the 400 block of East Harvard Street. Someone set a mattress on fire, which also damaged a carport next to it. There's been a total of 17 similar fires since January, primarily in the southern portion of Glendale.
"The majority of these fires have been as a result of setting a dresser or a mattress, or some sort of household items that's been left on a curbside or an alleyway,"said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot. "And it's occurred during the nighttime hours between approximately 10 p.m. and 4 a.m."
Police still don't have any leads on a suspect or suspects.
Lightfoot said folks should avoid dumping items on sidewalks and alleyways to help prevent future arson fires.
"If [people] have items that need to be picked up immediately, they can report the items to Integrated Waste Management," said Lightfoot.
The Glendale Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
