More than 23,000 marijuana plants seized by Narcotics Bureau

As part of a large-scale indoor marijuana grow bust operation, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Narcotics Bureau seized approximately 23,725 marijuana plants from several locations in L.A. Thursday.

Detectives were informed of the possible indoor marijuana grow in a commercial area by Southern California Edison.

The LASD says the locations—Worth Street, Miller Avenue and Moulton Avenues—were discovered in connection to smaller operations in the Walnut, San Dimas and Industry areas. 

The seized marijuana is valued at approximately $12,608,400, according to LASD. Nine male adults were arrested on theft and possession of narcotics charges. 

The illegal operation could have generated nearly $72.6 million in marijuana sales per year, according to an LASD Nixle Alert.
