Update 11:12 a.m. Lanes open

All lanes on the 5 freeway southbound in the Glendale area are now open, following an incident in which a cement truck overturned.

California Highway Patrol tweeted the following:

Update 9:19 a.m. Truck driver injured 

The truck driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, according to Eric Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department, KTLA reported. 

8:59 a.m. 

Traffic is backed up in Glendale Monday morning after a cement truck overturned just before 8 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway near Colorado Boulevard, NBC-LA reported.

The California Highway Patrol tweeted that the Colorado onramp to the southbound 5 freeway and the number 2, 3, 4 and 5 lanes were closed as a result of the overturned truck.

Rescue crews were working to free one person who became trapped as a result of the crash, according to the incident log, KTLA reported.
