One man has died and six other people were hurt early Sunday in a two-car crash on the westbound 10 Freeway that left one car flipped onto its hood.

The crash took place around 3:00 a.m. west of Manning Avenue in the Palms area of West Los Angeles.

California Highway Patrol officer Monica Posada says a Toyota Camry collided with another car, overturned and came to rest on its roof.

"CHP personnel arrived on scene and found Mr. Anselmo Hernandez, a passenger of the Toyota Camry, being treated by L.A. County Fire personnel. L.A. County Fire Department pronounced Mr. Hernandez deceased at the scene."

Two children were among those hurt. They had mostly minor cuts and scrapes. One passenger had moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. CHP says there were rainy conditions at the time of the crash. The cause is still under investigation.

Seven other people were hurt in a separate crash near Beverly Hills Sunday morning in the 1300 block of North Benedict Canyon Drive. Four people are in critical condition from that crash.
