Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that occurred in Los Angeles early Sunday morning.
Deputies responded to the area of 118th Street and Main Street at 3:46 a.m. after learning that a man who is known to sell narcotics was in the alley, according to LASD. The deputies also learned that the man was possibly armed.
Upon arrival, one deputy exited the patrol car and contacted the man in the alley. The suspect produced a firearm and pointed it at the deputy, reports LASD. The deputy then fired at the suspect, striking him once in the mid-section.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
This is the third officer-involved shooting being investigated by LASD this weekend. There were two deputy-involved shootings Saturday connected to same suspect. After a search that stretched for several hours, a man suspected of shooting and injuring an LASD deputy was shot and killed in Walnut Park.
