A 12-year-old girl who was pulled from a Hollywood motel pool along with her mother and brother has died.

Los Angeles County Coroner's assistant chief Ed Winter confirmed Tuesday that Gemesis Rosales died on Aug. 7.

Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Officer Jane Kim says the girl's 36-year-old mother remains hospitalized in serious condition. Her 11-year-old brother is hospitalized in stable condition.

Officials say the siblings, who couldn't swim, waded into the deep end of the Hollywood Premiere Motel's pool on Aug. 4. When they began struggling their mother, who also couldn't swim, jumped in to try to rescue them.

A bystander who recently learned CPR pulled all three from the pool, but Gemesis had no pulse when paramedics arrived.
