This week, we learned that SoCal just had its first "reverse spring" in nearly 100 years. That means temps are getting cooler, rather than hotter. Join in the celebration with South Pas locals: The Rialto is reopening! The historic 1925 theater is one of the last single-screens in SoCal, reports Pasadena Weekly. It was recently sold after being closed due to much needed renovations, but now it's reopen — for one night only! The new owner Izek Shomof is allowing the South Pasadena Preservation Foundation to host a special meeting there this weekend. It'll include popcorn and a talk with historian and architect John Reed.

Make Music Pasadena keeps the pre-summer festival vibes going with its free music concert this weekend. More than 150 acts will perform at six main stages, as well as bars and venues on and around Colorado Boulevard. Acts will include everything from Afro-Latino indie to classical and jazz. A few artists to watch out for: How To Dress Well, Making Movies and the Pasadena Symphony and Pops. Full schedule here.

Finally, a place where all breadheads can unite: The first ever L.A. Bread Festival will debut this weekend at Grand Central Market. Creative Director Joseph Shuldiner says bread hasn't been done like this before. "I felt like there is a burgeoning rebirth of great bread happening in L.A., so it needed its own festival," he told KPCC. The event will cover grains, which only recently have farmers begun to be grown in SoCal, said Shuldiner. Here's a full list of pop-up vendors, demos, panels and more.

Dim Sum lovers, this is your dream event. Get ready for Design East of La Brea's seventh annual Design-n-Dim Sum bike ride with the Highland Park bike shop Flying Pigeon. Spend the morning biking the L.A. River while visiting new businesses like Women’s Center for Creative Work, Clockshop and Good Eggs. The adventure will end at Chinatown's Golden Dragon Restaurant. See the best in film from teens around the world at the Santa Monica Teen Film Festival this weekend. It'll feature 38 short flicks chosen from more than 300 submissions.
