Travelers on Metro's Expo Line may experience delays of as much as 20 minutes over the weekend.

Service will be interrupted for repairs and maintenance starting at 9 p.m. Friday night. Rick Jager with Metro says there is a lot of work to do.

"Replacing and relocating some closed-circuit television cameras, making some adjustments to the power cable counterweights and some localized track work," Jager said. "And that work requires that the overhead wires that deliver power to the trains be shut down."

Buses will ferry passengers between any Expo stations that are offline. The Expo Line will be closed between Culver City and the Expo/Bundy Station, with bus shuttles between those points. Expo Line trains will run normally between the 7th Street/Metro Center Station out to Culver City and between the Expo/Bundy Station and downtown Santa Monica.

Regular service will resume Monday, but closures will occur again the weekend of Feb. 24-26. Expo trains at that time will run between the 7th Street/Metro Center Station and the Expo/Sepulveda Station, with bus shuttles replacing the Expo Line between the Sepulveda and downtown Santa Monica stations.
