Sunday's Academy Awards are one of the biggest nights of the year for the film industry, but also for movie buffs.

Expect a lot of discussion around the show and acceptance speeches to focus on diversity. After two years of intense public scrutiny over the academy's all-white acting nominations, the 2017 Oscar nominees are as diverse a group as the organization has ever seen, thanks to films like "Moonlight," ''Fences," ''Hidden Figures" and "Loving."

In all, 68 feature-length, documentary and short films were nominated for the 89th Academy Awards. Before the big show on Sunday, glance through our list of this year's nominees, and click on the highlighted names to hear our in-depth interviews.

You can also listen to The Frame's Oscars preview special episode, which will air on Saturday and Sunday at 10am on KPCC.

After absorbing all that knowledge, you can add another dimension to your Oscars experience at home by preparing yourself with ballots and bingo cards.

Note: KPCC did not interview all of this year's nominees. Nominees who were not interviewed by KPCC are not highlighted.
