Planning to fly out of Los Angeles International Airport this weekend? Budget a little wiggle room. The northbound off-ramp of the 405 Freeway to Century Boulevard will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, which will likely cause traffic delays for travelers.

The Century Boulevard exit is “one of the primary ways that people reach the airport,” Los Angeles World Airports’ Charles Pannunzio told KPCC.

Travelers should consider possible delays in planning when they choose to leave for the airport, Pannunzio said. The best alternate route to get to LAX: I-105 West to Sepulveda Boulevard, according to Pannunzio.

The exit closure is due to construction by Inglewood’s Century Boulevard Mobility Improvement Project, which Pannunzio said is “doing some excavating, removing and rebuilding of Century Boulevard.” The project began in late 2015 and is expected to be completed later this year.

Only the northbound 405 off-ramp will be affected; the on- and off-ramps for the southbound freeway, as well as the northbound on-ramp leaving the airport, will be open.
