The Southern California fires may have claimed more lives. KPCC's Brooke Binkowski says four bodies, all badly burned, were found Thursday in a remote area east of San Diego.
Brooke Binkowski: The Border Patrol says it looks as if the four were trying to get away from the fire when it overtook them. It's not clear whether they were local residents or attempting to cross the border.
Six Mexican nationals were hospitalized Monday after they were caught in flames while trying to cross the border illegally. At least one person was in critical condition with second degree burns.
About 200 people have been arrested since the fires began near Tecate on Sunday. Many gave up to firefighters and border agents. The Border Patrol says that's happened about 50 times in the past few days.
