Tobacco industry misleads in Prop 56 'doctor advertisement'

Opponents of Proposition 56, California’s proposed tobacco tax increase, have raised more than $66 million. Nearly all of that money has come from the tobacco industry and much of it has been spent on television ads criticizing the initiative.

Longtime progressive activist Tom Hayden dies at 76

Hayden was a radical activist in the '60s, and was famously prosecuted in the Chicago Seven conspiracy trial. Later in life he became a politician and always remained an advocate for liberal causes.
