It’s not a good time to drive to Bakersfield. The 5 freeway, pummeled by 90-mile per hour winds and driving snow, was closed yesterday at about noon when cars began sliding in lanes. A warming trend and the work of snow plows should have the roadways opened again tomorrow, but it’s unclear exactly what time. What can motorists in the area expect over the next 24-hours?
