Larry Mantle hosts a panel of Muslim student leaders from university campuses in and around Los Angeles. of a Military Reponse

Larry Mantle opens the phones to discuss Chalmers Johnsonçs article in the Opinion section of the Sunday Los Angeles Times in which Johnson warns against overreacting to the terrorist attacks by using repressive military force. The author and policy analyst contends that a crushing military response could create even more support for the terrorists thus increasing the cycle of violence.

Congress and the Attorney General are introducing plans to fight terrorism and enhance security. If adopted, the plans would give the government sweeping new authority to monitor communications in the United States. But will these laws come at the cost of personal freedoms without much gain in security? Larry Mantle discusses the trade-offs with USC Law professor Erwin Chemerinsky.

How will the media cover the American military response to the terror attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon? How will the tension between the need for reporters to gain access to battlefields and war zones and the government's need to maintain secrecy play out? Ian Mitroff, the guru of crisis management, joins Larry to talk about how crisis management must start with mechanisms in place long before crises happen and how only continuous proactive measures can prevent a crisis or limit its impact.
