Author Alissa Quart joins Larry Mantle to talk about the current trend to nurture and even create giftedness in children. Her new book Hothouse Kids explores the many classes, specialized camps, competitions, and other enrichment programs available to gifted children. But some Jewish groups have vehemently objected to the selection, accusing Dr. Hatout of being a radical disguised as a moderate and using Hatout's owns words as evidence of his extremism. Larry Mantle discusses the intense controversy surrounding Dr. Hatout's qualifications for the prestigious humanitarian award.
