Comedians try to come up with catch phrases to brand themselves or make their act memorable. Few succeed like Jimmie Walker. He was propelled to pop culture icon status when he started dropping the phrase "Dynomite!" on the 1970's sitcom "Good Times."
Before starring on the popular TV show, Jimmie Walker was a stand up comedian from the South Bronx. He performed legendary comedy clubs alongside acts like Jay Leno and David Letterman. At one point, Walker was even the official comedian of the East Coast branch of the Black Panthers.
Jimmie Walker has a new memoir called "Dynomite!: Good Times, Bad Times, Our Times."
