Endeavour fever! Fans gather across Los Angeles to see the shuttle's final flight
Excitement is building throughout the city as the Space Shuttle Endeavour makes its way to L.A.
The shuttle departed Edwards Air Force base this morning, after a one hour delay. Angelenos across the city have gathered to catch a glimpse of the famed ship. It will fly over several areas of Los Angeles before landing.
KPCC's Brian Watt reports from El Segundo where he has a view of LAX's tarmac, and he says the place is packed.
"You can't get a better spot. Even the city of El Segundo has put up a stage with reserved seating."
The Endeavour is currently looping around the Bay Area.
