Orange County Symphony Executive Director Dorothy Rose worked for a decade to bring an orchestra program and music education to elementary school students in the Anaheim City School District.

Dorothy Rose is executive director of the Orange County Symphony.  For years, she lobbied school district superintendents in Anaheim, trying to create a music program for elementary school students. Finally she succeeded, and now about 1,300 kids are enrolled in an orchestra program in Anaheim City School District. The new partnership is bringing music access to many of the district's kids for the first time.

The program is currently in 14 schools, and Rose hopes to expand it to all 24 of the district's schools in the future.
