Eureka!
An evening shower of creativity.
Finally, vindication for those who rarely feel like going back to the office after lunch.
This is Sandra Tsing Loh with the Loh Down on Science.
In the U S of A, our corporations seem devoted to a 9-to-5 schedule. But now European scientists have put their midday glasses of wine down and declared the eight-hour work day positively inhuman!
Researchers in England and Italy, surveying a wide range of people, found an overwhelming 98% felt "uninspired" in the afternoon.
In fact, 4:33 pm turns out to be the absolute worst time to do any thinking at all.
The most creative time? 10:04 in the evening. Even then, you better have a pen and pencil ready: almost 60% of people forget their inspirations in a matter of minutes.
And where's the most creative place? Sorta like Archimedes, turns out the best place to yell Eureka is in the shower.
So at work, suggest everyone start taking meetings the European way. By dragging all your laptops into the shower, at night! Right - you'll have to get up pretty early to figure out how to pitch that to your boss. Actually, late.
