Television host and comedian Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" prepares to testify alongside Arturo Rodriguez (left), president of the United Farm Workers, before the Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugee, Border Security and International Law on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 24, 2010.

Nick Jonas testifying before Congress about diabetes research. Mark Clemons testifying about steroid use in Major League Baseball. And now, Stephen Colbert?

Celebrities are known to go before Congress to raise awareness on an issue. Last Friday, the fake Comedy Central pundit testified before Congress on farm worker issues. And every major Republican candidate, except Mitt Romney, has a contract with Fox News. LA Times media critic Jim Rainey joins Madeleine to talk about the media landscape.
