Nicky Diaz Santillan (L), who claims to have been the nanny and housekeeper of Republican nominee for Californnia Governor Meg Whitman, speaks at a press conference with her attorney Gloria Allred in Los Angeles on September 29, 2010.

Call it "Meg-gate" ... the news that Meg Whitman's former housekeeper is an illegal immigrant. Whitman is running to be the next Republican governor of California and is trying hard to win Latino support.

Yesterday, standing next to celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, Nicky Diaz told her story to the media. She said she'd worked for Whitman for nine years. Then, in June of 2009, Diaz told Whitman she was in the country illegally and asked for Whitman's help.

The housekeeper's lawyer is holding another news conference today, where she says she will produce a document that proves Whitman knew Diaz was illegal years ago and only fired her because she's running for governor.

Here with Madeleine to talk about "Meg-gate" is Marie Wilson, founder and director of the White House Project, a non-partisan group that works with women in politics.

The update about "Meg-gate" in the later half of the show is also included.
