Is it really necessary for my kid to know how to write in cursive?
Thank you notes, condolence cards, and grocery lists have one thing in common. They're usually written by hand. Increasingly they are the ONLY things written by hand.
Children in elementary school are still taught cursive writing. Even adults use handwriting to learn characters in a new language like Chinese. But is it really necessary when computer typing is the norm?
Indiana University Assistant Professor of Psychology Karin Harman James talks to Madeleine about the value of learning to write in a digital age.
