Genopolitics scientists are exploring the connection between your genes and your partisanship.
Could your genetic make up explain the way you vote? That's the question “genopolitics” scientists are exploring.
Genopolitics is a mash up of genetics and politics. One of the leading researchers in this field is James Fowler, a professor of political science at UC San Diego. Fowler joins Madeleine to explain how two specific genes affect your likelihood to vote and your partisanship.
So, does this mean political consultants will be able to use Fowler’s research to get their candidate elected? Democratic strategist Darry Sragow weighs in.
Two Genes Predict Voter Turnout, by James Fowler. [PDF]
