Smoking kills: FDA proposes new labels for cigarettes

New graphic warnings may soon wrap cigarettes sold in the U.S. The FDA and Department of Health and Human services unveiled 36 designs yesterday for public comment. Will the labels, with images that include cancer patients and disapproving children, deter smokers? California's next first lady: Anne Gust Brown

Jerry Brown probably won't hire a chief of staff when he moves up to the Governor's office in January. He already has a top aide and manager: his wife, Anne Gust Brown. A former corporate lawyer who worked as in house counsel at the Gap, she was said to guide Brown's tenure as Attorney General and his gubernatorial campaign.
