NASA gets before and after shots... of a comet
NASA
Comet Tempel 1 as Seen by NASA's Stardust.
It was a busy night at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. Scientists there are working around the clock, monitoring a small spacecraft named Stardust. Stardust's mission is to fly by a comet known as Tempel 1 and take its picture. Last night Stardust got within 112 miles of the comet and snapped 72 images.
Sanden Totten joins us now.
He was up late, hanging out at JPL as the images were beamed back to earth.
